Energy and creativity are the hallmarks of the work of the director and cellist Yuram Ruiz.

His work ranges from the artistic and musical direction of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Italian Switzerland to the direction of the Grand Orchestra of the Cantonal Conservatory of Valais to that of the Youth Orchestra of the Accademia Tibor Varga.
He is director and teacher of the music school A Tempo.

He is originally from Margarita Island, in Venezuela, where he began a solid academic career that continues in Switzerland with great results. Yuram Ruiz has accumulated extensive experience begun in the prestigious and famous El Sistema Nacional de las Orquestas Juveniles and Infantiles de Venezuela. In this context, he played in the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra working with directors of the caliber of José Antonio Abreu, Gustavo Dudamel, Claudio Abbado, Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim and Andris Nelsons.

During this time he took part in numerous tours around the world participating in prestigious international festivals such as the Salzburg Festival and the Lucerne Festival and performing in some of the most famous theaters in the world such as the Teatro alla Scala, the Musikverein, the Lucerne KKL and the Teatro Colon.

He has participated in several recordings for the Deutsches Grammophon record label.

His passion for music and his keen interest in contemporary composers led him to perform various previews of works for symphony orchestra, ballets and operas, as well as recordings in various theaters in Europe.

Yuram Ruiz has conducted several orchestras, including the Baden-Baden Philharmonic, the Lario Symphonic Orchestra, the Biel Soleure Symphony Orchestra, the Zagreb Radio Television Orchestra, the Biel Chamber Orchestra, the Voces Symphony Orchestra of Barcelona, ​​the Nueva Esparta Symphony Orchestra and the Hradec Kralove Philharmonic Orchestra in the Czech Republic.
