On Sunday, March 30, at 4:30 PM, the Berio | Alla Corte dei Miracoli festival returns with an event exploring the voice in its most free and expressive form.
Giulia Zaniboni will lead us on this sonic journey with a performance of Sequenza III for solo voice by Luciano Berio—a piece that dissolves the boundary between words and sound, meaning and pure expression. Whispers, shouts, laughter, sighs: the voice fragments and recomposes itself in a continuous flow, where the performer’s body becomes an integral part of the music. Written in 1965 for Cathy Berberian, Sequenza III remains a fascinating and thought-provoking work, challenging our very idea of singing.
Following the performance, a discussion with Vincenzo Parisi (artistic director of the festival), Marta Del Grandi, Guinevere, Dada Sutra, and Simona Severini will further explore the relationship between voice, body, and musical identity.
