Virginia Guastella makes her debut on the podium of the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini with a tribute to Nadia Boulanger and Lili Boulanger.

On Wednesday, March 11, the Boulanger Project comes to life — an initiative conceived by the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini, which entrusted Guastella with shaping the musical journey, from the definition of the program to the orchestrations. She will appear both as conductor and pianist.

A composer, pianist, and conductor of refined musical language and deep sensitivity, Guastella moves through different expressive worlds in this project, restoring to the figures of Nadia and Lili Boulanger a living and contemporary presence.

The program places works by Nadia alongside two pieces by Lili Boulanger orchestrated by Guastella herself, together with Violentango by Astor Piazzolla. Completing the program are two works presented in their Italian premieres: Pastorale by Per Nørgård and Largo – In homage to B.A.C.H. by Thea Musgrave.

The project is enriched by the direction and dramaturgy of Stefania Panighini and by the presence on stage of dancer Sara Catellani.
