Episode #10 – Thursday, September 11, 9:00 PM – Corte dei Miracoli

The journey through Luciano Berio’s Sequenze continues with No. X for trumpet and piano resonances, one of the most surprising of the cycle: the trumpet that multiplies, reflects, and transforms itself through the instrument and the sonic space of the piano.

Giving voice to this alchemy are Andrea Cavallo and Silvia Giliberto, performers capable of conveying the tension and visionary power of a score that pushes the boundary between breath and resonance, body and echo.

The evening opens with a witty and irreverent monologue by Daniele Zinni – author for Einaudi of Meme del sottosuolo and among the leading Italian experts in memetics – who will bring to the stage a sharp, ironic perspective on the relationship between memes and contemporary music.

Closing the event, composer and trumpeter Michele Bernabei presents his augmented trumpet with live electronics: an experience that takes the perception of sound and its possibilities even further.

An evening weaving together music, words, and visions, under the artistic direction of Vincenzo Parisi, who guides the cycle with both rigor and imagination.
