🎶 Tutto quello che avreste voluto sapere sulle Sequenze di Berio*
*ma non avete mai osato chiedere
Episode #14
The Berio Festival reaches its final appointment with Sequenza V for trombone, one of Luciano Berio’s most enigmatic and theatrical works, performed by Raffaele Marsicano.
Alongside Berio, music by Dario Buccino, Carlo Elia Praderio and Marsicano himself shapes a programme conceived as a single narrative arc.
The thread running through the concert originates with Grock, who was a true source of inspiration for Berio’s Sequenza V: a discreet presence that remains in the background while setting the entire journey in motion, between gesture, theatre and sound.
Within this context, another central figure comes into focus: that of the composer-performer — the musician who is also the author of the music, where writing and physical presence coincide, bringing sound back into a dimension that is at once bodily and imaginative.
In dialogue with Raffaele Marsicano will be Gabriele Manca, Dario Buccino and Carlo Elia Praderio, guiding the audience through this intertwining of sound, scene and thought.
With this concert, a project conceived for the centenary of Luciano Berio and developed over the course of an entire year comes to an end:
14 concerts, 14 Sequenze, over thirty guests, and a journey that turned each event into an opportunity for listening and exchange.
A project conceived and curated by Vincenzo Parisi, with the collaboration of Riccardo Palomes, graphic design by Andrea Giussani, photography by Elisa Perazzoli, and the support of Piano B Agency.
After this final chapter, a necessary pause.
Before new — and inevitable — adventures.
